What’s been happening:

Retired after 38 years of government service, with four years in the US Army, 26 years in the Commissioned Corps of the US Public Health Service and 8 years as a civilian. The last 34 years were spent as a radiation biology scientist with the US Food and Drug Administration working primarily with the biological effects of ultraviolet radiation from sunlamps and working to determine if there are any effects from radio frequency radiation from cell phone emissions. During the early years of the AIDS crisis, I worked with fellow Penn Stater, Dr. David Lytle, to determine that latex condoms and gloves were effective barriers against the passage of viruses. After retirement, I moved from the Washington DC area to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware to enjoy the beach and the sun (with proper precautions).
